Non solo dolcetti nella calza della Befana...

Not just treats in the Befana stocking...

The Epiphany takes away all the holidays…

That's right! But if for many Epiphany is just a day that ends the Christmas holiday season, for others it's not just that. In fact, a series of customs, idioms, superstitions and popular beliefs revolve around Epiphany. It's so much more than just a day off on the calendar.

It seems that, on the day of the Epiphany – which the people of Ravenna also call “Easter Monday” (not to be confused with Easter Monday) – supernatural aspects are also connected: an ancient Romagna tradition, in fact, says that, on the night of the January 6, animals acquire the ability to speak.

This is where the saying comes from: “ Par la nott d'La Pasquetta e' scor e' ciù e la zvèta ”, which means: “On the night of the Epiphany, the scops owl and the owl speak”.

However, it was thought that listening to the voice of one's animal was unfortunate for the owner, and for this reason, on the occasion of the Epiphany, the animals were given an abundant ration of food, so as to avoid bad luck.

Beliefs aside, the Befana stocking, as we know... brings with it many delicacies, for adults and children: sweets, candies... But why not reward the best ones with something really, really special?

Put Black Drops “Aged” Balsamic Vinegar of Modena IGP in the sock , or, for those with a sweet tooth, Pralines with Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena DOP aged 12 years .

You will see what a surprise!
